Launch of Iraq Education Exhibition and Conference with golden sponsorship from Al-Shaab University

Under the patronage and presence of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, and with golden sponsorship from Al-Shaab University, the Iraq Education Exhibition and Conference was launched in its session titled (Education; Innovation and the Future). The event was organized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research at the Baghdad International Fair from September 16 to 19, 2023, with the participation and attendance of members from the Parliamentary Education Committee, representatives from specialized international organizations, representatives from The Times and Elsevier institutions in the Middle East and Africa, representatives from Google and Amazon, and Arab, regional, and international universities, in addition to Iraqi public and private universities. The conference opened with a recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by the playing of the Iraqi national anthem. Then, His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, delivered his special speech for the conference, in which he confirmed that the ministry has succeeded in establishing an environment of openness to global academic spaces and has decided that Iraqi universities will carry a non-stereotypical identity in education, pointing out that all higher education projects are characterized by methodology and vitality, most notably the unprecedented educational transformation projects to the Bologna path. He indicated that the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has set its sights on the quality of university outputs and the advancement of solid scientific publishing in global repositories, as well as moving towards quality requirements and adopting the foundations of electronic governance, which is one of the important pillars of the ministry. For his part, the head of the Parliamentary Education Committee, Representative Muzahim Qasim Al-Khayat, explained that the committee provides full support to the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and its educational programs, confirming during his speech at the conference that laws concerning education, university service law, graduate studies amendment law, and consulting services law will be legislated, calling for cooperation in the field of education development and keeping pace with the modern launch of artificial intelligence. Meanwhile, the representative of The Times Foundation, Nicholas Davis, confirmed that Iraq will obtain the 37th place in The Times ranking for scientific research at the end of this month, as a result of its fruitful efforts and the submission of scientific research by 13 Iraqi universities that compete with foreign research. Afterwards, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research opened the Education Exhibition, in which many Iraqi, Arab, and international universities and educational institutions participated, and other activities listed on the exhibition's agenda began, which continues until September 18, 2023, in Hall No. 4, which hosts Al-Shaab University's exhibition that introduces the university, its mission, goals, and future vision for the educational process.
